The Web Masters granddaughter, Kathryn Bryant (see May 2018 entry, above), completes the seventh grade and will move on to the eighth grade in September.  She is in the accelerated classes program at Bay Springs Middle School in Villa Rica, and finished with all A's.  Just as a note to those that may not know, she has never had any grade other than A, in any class, in her entire school career.  Makes me proud!   She will be taking ninth grade (high school freshman level) classes in Science, Mathematics and Language Arts (and for actual high school credits) during her eighth grade experience.

Note from Dad: Kathryn and her BFF (Madison) have been sweeping all the awards, so this year the school decided to only award them the two highest awards they had earned and reserve all the others to give the rest of the kids a chance to win something.  Kathryn's career will be updated again, next year.

I never managed many A's in anything, and ended up being a tenth grade drop-out, although I did, somehow, manage to go on to a rather successful career as an Aviation Fire Control Technician in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the USS Independence, the USS Forrestal, and the USS Saratoga (all super-carriers) as well as tours with Fighter Squadron 41 (the Black Aces), Fighter Squadron 25 (the Fist of the Fleet) and Attack Squadron 105 (the Gunslingers).
Then, after retiring from the Navy, I had another successful career as a Software Engineer with a local defense contractor. that underwent several name changes along the way.  Initially Loral, then Lockheed-Martin, later L3 Communications, then becoming (after I retired) L3 Technologies and, finally, L3-Harris due to a merger.  At least the pension checks keep coming.
